April 6th Vote Write in Candidate Dennis Newberry for Mayor of Lake Ozark

Lake Ozark and all our sister communities have experienced tremendous growth post Covid. As we enter into 2021 with hopes of a safer future we need to take on a New Image. An Image that people are proud to have representing them. As a write in candidate for Mayor of Lake Ozark I want to share a little bit of my background with you.

In addition to my business experiences I have a background in helping Lake Ozark businesses on the Bagnell Dam Strip. In the early 2000’s I began investing in neglected properties that produced zero tax revenue for the city of Lake Ozark. My wife and I repurposed several buildings and started new businesses that created jobs and tax revenue for Lake Ozark. These businesses are sustainable and remain active today. My vision to revitalize the lower area of the strip ended up being a catalyst that started many other new businesses.

In 2003 I completed the Miller county Leadership Program so I could further my education and provide mentorship for other businesses. By doing so I learned a great deal about Miller County and the City of Lake Ozark. My work later allowed me to assist other Lake Ozark businessmen and to become one of the founding members of the Bagnell Dam Strip Association. This Association remains in effect today supporting many events and parades on the strip.

In the past few years I became aware of some serious sexual abuse by a teacher on child (multiple children) in one of our local schools. Dumbfounded that this behavior could go on right here in our community I was determined to do something about it. Over the course of a year I read thousands of white pages on Child Sexual Assaults (CSA) within schools. This extensive research allowed me to understand this activity thoroughly enabling me to approach our State Government Legislator Rocky Miller and Senator Justin Brown with a sound knowledge in hopes of some new and very necessary legislation being adopted. After months of lobbying our legislators and in record time, HB 604 was signed into law by Governor Parsons in July of 2019. Now, Statewide, all our students have a new and stronger protection against this deplorable activity.

I ask for your vote on Tuesday April 6th. My drive, my skills and my ability to accomplish things will be put to good use for Lake Ozark and our community as a whole. I hope you find my Image as the one you want for Mayor of Lake Ozark.

Dennis Newberry
