Osage Beach is located on the East side of the Lake, and extends over 10 miles along Highway 54, just South of Bagnell Dam down to Linn Creek, and includes the East side of the Main Channel from MMs 18-28. Because of the central location, and the amazing amount of activities, dining, and retail, both on and off the water, Osage Beach is often called the "Heart of Lake of the Ozarks", and for good reason.
Established in 1886 as the town of Zebra, named for the striped bluffs in the area, Osage Beach was Platted in 1928 by combining Zebra and the nearby town of Damsel, and was named for the sandy beaches along the Osage River, which is now downstream from the dam. It was incorporated in 1959, and has witnessed steady growth as the Lake of the Ozarks has become more popular over the years, becoming the hub of entertainment for visitors and residents alike. Additionally, Osage Beach provides a wide range of amenities, such as a full K-12 school district, several college campuses, and the Lake regional Hospital, with all the related specialists and medical services, making it an ideal location for families or individuals with any potential needs or requirements, as well as an ideal area for investments of all types.
Bordering the Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Osage Beach allows for almost any pastimes the Lake has to offer, with easy accessibility from anywhere in the area, and a wide range of residential options, from modern mansions to condominium communities to single family homes, caters to any desire or expectation. The Lakefront provides well over 30 miles of shoreline, either on the main channel, or tucked into coves and hollows of all sorts, in addition to off-lake options including acreage and undeveloped regions, offering as much variety in living spaces as there is in the places to live themselves.
Dining options abound in Osage Beach, accessible by car and boat alike, many with spectacular views of the Lake and the surrounding environs, and all exude the amazing hospitality and welcoming spirit the Lake of the Ozarks is known for. Most establishments are family-friendly and offer live music and entertainment regularly, as well as hosting weekly, seasonal, or annual events. Off Lake dining includes everything from Jeffrey's Prime Rib and Lobster, and Michaels Steak Chalet, to Wicked Willie's Sports Grill, to Ozark Distillery and Brewery, and Scooter's Coffee, all of which are conveniently located near the 54, as well as a multitude of national and midwestern favorites.
Other off-lake activities include several State Parks around the Osage Beach area, with hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing and public boat ramps among the numerous activities they offer. Miner Mikes, a local favorite indoor amusement center, is also located just off the business 54, as well as Jetz Trampoline Park, Fort 54 Paintball, and the Osage Beach Outlet Marketplace, providing well rounded opportunities for every occasion or inclination. Indicative of the popularity of this section of the Lake, Osage Beach is graced with not one but two 18-hole golf courses with the Bear Creek Valley Golf Club on the northern end of town, and the Oaks Golf Course at Margaritaville Resort, with sweeping views of the main channel, near MM 25 in the southwest region.
In addition to the expected marinas, yacht clubs, boat rentals, fishing guides and amazing homes along the waterfront, there are also several coves and hollows that feature full service entertainment options, with multiple pools, bars, dining, and family friendly recreation opportunities available, and accessible by boat at courtesy docks supervised by welcoming and attentive staff members. The Margaritaville Resort on the south side of the peninsula, stretches for over a mile of waterfront at MMs 25-26 and includes several coves punctuating the Oaks Golf Course and other facilities, with single family homes on-premises, as well as individually owned rental units. The always manicured Margaritaville, formerly the Tan-Tar-A Resort, is a popular destination for visitors and residents alike, with several dining options, pools, horseback riding, golf, a spa, an arcade, and a year round indoor water park, all in a family friendly atmosphere, with easy accessibility by land or water, and a wealth of parking for each.
MM17.5 of the main channel, in the Osage Beach Cove, is another local favorite scene, with WFO Watersports providing pontoon rentals and every kind of water toys, skis, boards and tubes anyone could need for a day on the Lake, in addition to powerboat services. The 1932 Reserve is also located in this cove, with casual dining in a modern yet historic building, featuring unique cocktails made with fresh juices and the finest spirits as well as an extensive wine selection, and select wine tastings and events. Anchoring the entire cove is the always popular Backwater Jacks Bar and Grill, specializing in Midwest cuisine with a South Florida/Caribbean flair, a substantial resort style pool and swim up bar, multiple docks and slips of all sizes, as well as the adjacent Sushi and Asian Grill, and more expansions underway all the time.
Down the main channel at MM21, in the Miller Hollow, is the well known Redhead Lakeside Bar and Grill, offering an extensive menu that has been voted Best Waterfront Dining for almost a decade, with indoor and outdoor seating, 2 pools, a swim up bar, and almost 100 slips at their dock. Just behind Redheads, and up the hill slightly, is Hightide, an Adult Poolside Bar and Daytime Experience, complete with 2 pools, a stage, and even offering private cabanas, a golf cart shuttle from your boat, and VIP bottle service for a "Vegas experience right on the Lake". Along the water next to Redheads, and past the Redhead Yacht Club Boat Rentals, is the Performance Boat Center, one of the worlds largest high-performance boat dealerships, and a full service marine headquarters. In addition to new and used performance craft, they also offer parts and service, as well as painting, rigging, storage, and an impressive showroom, which is open to the public, displaying their custom creations, and often features 8-10 of the worlds most elaborate performance boats. With the rest of the cove lined with residences of all shapes, sizes and views, Miller Hollow simultaneously embodies, and emanates, all the Lake Life has to offer.
Great dining options, convenient Lake access, appreciation of nature, and enjoyable retail selections are all wrapped into one neat package called Osage Beach, and whether you're looking for a summer home, an investment, or to relocate long term, opportunities abound, and we're always here to help you make The Smarter Move.
